Many of you may not have heard about this book but this one by Garth Stein is a MUST READ!
Trust me if you are a dog lover like I am I highly recommend it to you.This is filled with humor,hope,love and all the emotions you think you forgot.
1.I admire the female sex.The life makers.It must be amazing to have a body that can carry an entire creature inside.(I mean other than a tapeworm which I had.That does not count as another life,really.Thats a parasite that should never have been there in the first place.)The life that Eve had inside her was something she had made.
2.They are responders and reactors,not independent thinkers.Sure,they are clever and quick but they don’t think outside the box;they are all about convention.
3.But no one sees him because he has responsibilities.
4.And he lives in Seattle when he should live somewhere else.
5.Getting angry at another driver for a driving incident is pointless.
6.I did not like that whole line of reasoning.
7.Grandparents are like that.Grandparents are convinced they are better parents than their own kids,whose lives they have already fucked up.
8.People are always worried about what’s happening next.They often find it difficult to stand still,to occupy then now without worrying about the future.People are not generally satisfied with what they have,they are very concerned with what they are going to have.
9.Rain is not dirty,dirt is dirty.
10.When I saw Eve for the first time,I could not breathe.I could not walk.I felt if she were out of my sight for a moment,I might wake up from a dream and find her gone.My entire world revolved around her.
